Get of on the water

Havent seen any posts in awhile. Forgive me if I take you on a slight detout
I went to PVR(Pleasant Valley Reservoir) in Bishop twice in the past 30 days. Both times it was wide open. Easily 50 fish each time. Fished from 8 am to 2 pm. Everything works. from Power bait, worms, eggs, to lures . I am not joking when I say, there wasnt anything that I tried that didnt work. Focused on lures because they allow for easier release. We did keep a few bleeders
We came in from the power plant. Road out bikes in to the launch ramp, which is about 1 1/2 miles from the power plant. An easy walk, but the bike is sooo much better. I was catching fish closer to shore (25 feet and closer). But some guys where using a casting bubble and a power worm< They were casting out 40-50 yards. Allow it sink and slow retrieve> pink power worm worked the best
Most fish are your cookie cutter DFG planters, but an occassional 14"-16" With this section of water, you never know what will hit,. It could be a 5 lb alpers or a double digit brown. Worth a trip my friends.

This is a short trip from Isabella, but certainly worth it.

Thansen, thanks' for the report. I was up there a little over a week ago and fished the Lower Owens. We got there the day after the DWP increased the flows and the fishing was off some but we still did OK. Sounds like we should have given PVR a try.

You will be bored with PVR, but that is a good thing. We are heading back on 2-07. Final trip before softball season is in full swing. I heard that Alpers will be planting this week. WOuld like to get into some bigger fish. But I always like consistent action
