Haven't posted in a while as I have been busy fishing the lake. With the lake near its maximum allowed and the river flowing strong, I have been fishing the area from the old cemetary to the mouth of the river. Trout fishing has been exceptional with easy limits and fish to 3lbs common. We have lost several larger than that. PM me for details if needed. This is a small area and I expect to see the crowds grow. I need to keep a slight edge up on he competition. Crappie are moving back to the shoreline and trees. Rocky point, Kissack, camp 9, and wofford heights park are all good. Bass fishing in the shallows is excellent with fish to 8lbs common. Catfishing is great at Browns cove and camp 9, Tillie creek and north fork in the trees.
Kern river is fishing great with weekly stockings. Flow is down to 1,500cfs and clarity is great. Water temp is 59 deg so wading is possible without freezing your feet.

DID THE THUNDERSTORMS SUNDAY 7/11 MESS UP RIVER CLARITY? I SEE FLOWS BACK OVER 2,000 CFS AGAIN :-(

Thunderstorms did not mess up the river. Clarity and flows are fishable and getting better daily.
