CDFW Emergency Fishery Closure Evaluation Process Adopted; Careful Angling Can Help Prevent Closures

I'm sure the Upper Kern River will be closed soon to protect the few fertile trout still left below Johnsondale Bridge. The CDFW are now only planting STERILE 1/4 lb trout and that means about 8" if that and I'm sure that the river temps are now to hot to plant near Kernville.

El Nino is building :-)

Is it worth a 3 hour(1-way) drive, 2 night stay at a motel, 2-1/2 day to fish on the upper Kern?
I usually arrive on Wed afternoon and leave Fri afternoon.

I do this about 4 times a year, but, only once so far this year due to negative reports.

I enjoy the area, but, I have to feel it is the fishing action that is my main objective.
