Hey was up on the upper Kern on Saturday the 27th and 26th, The upper river was still a little dirty but the fishing was great, got 10 fish in 2 1/2 hour all between 12 and 14 inches (all on eggs). Then had to go and cut weeds at camp. On Sunday I was up about 20 miles north of Kernville again at 6am and again the fishing was great another 10 fish in 2 hours on eggs. It seemed to have fish in every pool, I say 90% of then were between 12 and 14 inches and 75% are hold overs. the colors were jsut out of a book. Yes I did keep a few. There is a lot of muck on the shore from 2 weeks ago. Also there was tiny baby fish at the edge at every stop, witch is a good sign from two weeks ago when I was up there and thought how could any thing live in that muddy water. The lower Kern was still not as clean as the upper but looked a lot better than 2 weeks ago.
Also saw some baby quail (should be second broud) and I saw 4 white wing dove around the lake (never saw them up there before) and saw more down in the valley on my way back the LA area. Don't forget you can shot white wing in Kern Couty
Good luck Fishing

Nice Report. I want to jump in my truck right now and head up there. The kids are bugging the heck out of me to go before school starts.
Im going to try to get up there this weekend. I will post a fish report as well if everything goes as planned. Thanks again for sharing.

Great news about the water clearing.... I am heading up to Fairview Aug. 11 for a few days. Kids can't wait we have been going up for years. Will do a lot of fishing but will only keep one or two. I am the only one who eats trout. They like McNallys, as do I.

Great report, going up at 4am tomorrow morning. Will post a report Sat night when we get home or sunday. Taking the 3 kids and camping so looking forward to some good fishing. We too were there two weeks ago during the mudslides and the mucky water. But as i said in my post from that weekend, coming from the 100s in fresno, the rain was NICE...haha. Gotta finish packing, thanks again for the report.

Fish On: Kings River. I personally have not done the Kings but know a few that live right on it and say the fishing is great. Big trout, Bass and lots of other fish from what i hear. He lives in Parlier and ive been told that is the area of the Kings thats really good. Ive also heard that the water is very very dangerous on that part of the Kings. Lots of floating and drinking too so may want to really call around and find out as much info as you can.

I just got back from the River yesterday and want to post a few pic but not sure how...can you or someone help me on that. Thanks much.

thanks for that info mang. pics are easy here. after you have downloaded your pics to your puter. write your story and at the bottom of "new post" page you will see upload attachment. click on that and then the browse tab then find your pics. i have xp so i go threw my documents then my pictures then my pic software (kodak) then click on the pic you want to transfer. then hit the ADD THE FILE then preview to see if it took. im no pro so there may be a easy-er way. so if any body knows lets hear from you.
YOUR RESULTS MAY VARY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. you might have to resize your pics threw your pic software if too big. pm me if still stuck.

Okay Fish On...Found out you would camp on the Kings River near Pine Flat...plan on company like roughing it on Kern with lots of people around but my husband Mark said the fishing is great. You would take Belmont ave off 99 and just drive and youll run right into it.

Okay, gonna try to post my pics and fishing/camping trip.
