Catfish bite ?

Postby hogbygardd » Sat Aug 15, 2009 2:40 pm

Have been making regular weekly trips to catfish at the lake, Have tried French Gulch area, Aux dam, Paradise and Kisack cove. All very slim pickins and only small bait stealers. I have picked up a few 2-4 pounders. Is it just me or has the fishing declined over the last 4-5 years at Isabella ?

Actually, some fishing has declined over the last few months...mostly government related. F&G mismanagement and Corps of Engineers dam fiasco. The crappie bite was better than normal this season but with the lake being drawn down every day the crappie have gone deep to breath. There have been decent takes and some real trout & bass beauties out of the lake recently, but people have to work harder than usual to get them. Toss in Forest Circus 'management by closure'. Didn't want to leave them out.

Time to have a town hall meeting about government incompetence here. Democrat or Republican, state or fed, government, makes no difference. Most everyone is tired of being told how it's going to be by people & agencies supposedly 'working for the people' and haven't got a clue or accountability. Make your voice known to your reps.
