Coming Up July 31st

Postby kernriverlover » Tue Jul 22, 2008 12:44 pm

Hi fellow fisherman and women...coming up to rough it with the hubby and three kids July 31 in a tent (non-designated campsite). Wondering if at this point the river has cleared up. When we came up the 13th of this month it had the storms and the river was black with muck. Although as i said in my previous post, coming from 112 degree fresno, the rain was an awesome relief. Wish we could have caught some fish but we did the day we got there at the lake...dinks but the little ones didnt care. Although mom got pretty tired of putting the worm on every 5min...haha. Heck, i got to the point i put a 1/4 of a worm on at a time.

Anyway, any info would be appreciated.

Also, wanted to let you all know something i didnt know. There is a link (let me know if you want it, i need to find it again) but its a link that you can obtain your fire permit for camping online, beats going to the forest service.

Tight lines...Bobbie and Fam. Let's hear some fishing stories.

Oh...one more thing, renting a house in Kernville for very reasonable over thanksgiving. Will let everyone know how it is, ive heard great things about its privacy and it sleeps 8 people. SO SO looking forward to spending that holiday at the wonderful Kern River. Just pray we can get up through Quaking Aspen from Fresno that time of yr. Take care all!!!!

Thanks.

Steve...its two blocks behind kernville. We are paying $175/nt because its a holiday. The normal cost is between $125-150/nt during summer and offseason. But i will surely let you know. Also, there is 3 more smaller houses on the property. Two are adults, two rooms with large beds. One is for kids as well. The one we are staying in has two masters and one room with 4 bunk beds...cant wait to stay there. You can find the link on the old canyon connection under lodging. Its the Kernville rental. Let me know if you want the link...it has pictures of each home. Also, there are some BEAUTIFUL homes in alta sierra...much more for a romantic getaway which we will use one day.

Here's the link to that property information. http://www.kernvalley.com/krvrentals/index.htm
There is also a new number for contacting the owner: 805-591-9090
His name is Carl Wormood. He also has vacation property in Alta Sierra.
Let him know you heard about him here. He is one of Canyon Connection's supporters
that makes this forum possible and free. He's also just a great guy to deal with. Enjoy.
