Stocking Schd.

I see the flow as of today are at 320 cfs and I would hope they get up to at least 800 by the mid. of April because I would like to spend some time on the river fishing and just camping out. I have heard rumors that there will be changes to the stocking this year any one have any idea what those changes will be? Something about quality over quantity.

I keep visiting this website hoping to read something positive about fishing the Kern River.
Doesn't seem to be much interest - perhaps just a lack of positive news.
Will anyone try to fish the River in March or do they wait/depend on the stocking?

No stocking scheduled for March on the Upper Kern :-( as of today.

If the weather stays warm I may try to take my grandson up for a couple day durring his spring break. If I do I'll let you guys know how we do.

I was up there fishing the upper Kern on a really short trip March 15 -16. My buddy and I did ok for the conditions. I Caught 8 on spinners and Phoebe's. My buddy did well with eggs. Biggest fish around 14" and only 1 looked like it had been in the water for some time, a healthy holdover from last year I guess. It seemed as though they stocked even though there were no reports on DFG site. Headed back up there this weekend with my son Fri - Tues for some quality time. I will let you know how it goes.
