Good question Calduke. Hope you get lots of answers. My understanding is that productive river fishing is non-existent since they no longer allow stocking. I can't understand why the Kernville business folks have not raised a huge clamor against the decision to ban stocking the river.

I don't think they realize how much income is generated from fishing "nuts", like me, who plan their family vacations based on fishing action on the Kern

will wonder why they weren't more vocal and active.

Note....the Isabella folks are quite happy since the lake is still being stocked! So they are not complaining.

A group from E&J market made their yearly meet at Fairview. Only Jack, the store owner, caught anything. Hit his limit everyday but said they were in the 6-8" range. Nothing worth keeping. He also said he couldn't get around to his "personal working spots" because of a knee injury.

I've been sending visitors to the lake. It's looking really good out there, both trout and bass. Saw a 24 1/2" trout caught on hot dogs and it was a beauty. So right now the lake is your best bet.

Actually, we locals have been very vocal in the stocking issues with CF&G ever since I first alerted the three local "organizations?" there was a major problem coming. Despite all the petitions, F&G is showing little concern for the situation they caused here. Two other lakes that were on the non-stocking list have been removed from the list because they proved it was BS. The local F&G people supposedly have documentation that could get the Kern off the "no stock list" but they still have not submitted it and wouldn't say when they would. Covering their incompetent butts is their major concern right now. Because of their uncaring attitude at a recent community meeting with Jean Fuller, our state rep, the annual Fish Festival to honor the Fish Hatchery and local F&G has been canceled. No use recognizing a group that not only directly caused the situation, but deliberately delays in resolving it. It's typical of what we're going through with the Forest Service also. Another mismanaged government agency with authority for stupid personal decisions affecting the public and their lands and no accountability for their actions.

We're hoping the civil rights violation lawsuit against government agency individuals gets going soon. One potential plaintiff has a good case, all the documentation and presentation, just no front money to pursue at this time. Any good attorneys out there that will take the package, pro bono or on contingency, and run with it? Even a small % of the provable yearly loss due to illegal FS actions would be worth the effort. I've seen the power point and it's a very realistic shot at making individual agency decision makers accountable...financially...with their income and even pensions (it's already been done at other government levels). Would make them all think three times about their actions and decisions. If you are an interested attorney let us know and we'll put you in touch with the individual.

Meanwhile, hit the lake for action.
